For the past three years I was studying Media and Communications in London and this year I got my university BA diploma. Participating in Star Ellas was for me a great opportunity as it could open doors that could help me with my career and most importantly I can meet people that I can learn from and become the best in whatever I choose to do in the future.
So true. Doors fly open to girls with beauty titles…
2) How are you preparing for Miss Universe? What areas need hard work?
I think the ‘walk’ is a really important factor as it determines whether you have a strong presence on stage, so for me that is an area I want to work on so that I can feel very confident on the final night. Other than that I’m watching old Miss Universe pageants because I find that it is the best way to become familiar with everything before arriving to Las Vegas.
Anna is right! You can be the prettiest and brainiest contestant but if you walk like a hairy ape on stage, you’re OUT!
3) What is your biggest fear in the Miss Universe 2010? Your biggest dream?
I’m not sure I have a fear for Miss Universe. I’m going to give my absolute best and I want this to be seen to the public. My dream is to use my university diploma and help out as many charity foundations as I can. I really want my voice to be heard so that I can help out as many people as possible.
4) You are passionate about television and journalism – do you intend to pursue a career as a tv journalist or will you put that on hold and work as a model?
My passion is television and journalism. I don’t want to put anything on hold from now. Whatever good opportunity I see in front of me I will grab it.
If you can can have the cake AND the icing then GO FOR IT!
5) What was it like growing up as the daughter of the Serbian-Greek basketball star Branizslav “Bane” Prelevic? Was it fun or was it difficult? How close are you to him?
I am very close to my father and I am very grateful for this wonderful relationship that we have. Being the daughter of a famous basketball player has its advantages and its disadvantages. Due to the fact that my father is a very loved person by everyone, people would always help us in any way possible. On the other hand, my sister and I would always have to work extra hard for everything, so that we could show that what we have achieved is not because of our father but because we are good at what we do. It’s is as if we are always doing exams.
Yeah, the pressure increases when you have famous parents!
6) If you could do one thing to make your family and country proud what would it be?
I think the best way to make anyone proud is to show your passion and effort in something in whatever area this may be.
7) Please share your top 3 beauty secrets…
Discrete make-up -just concealer and some mascara because natural beauty is always what attracts the most, exercise three times a week, and eat everything you desire as long as there is always a limit.
Great advice – I can follow the make-up tip and the exercise tip. But the eating tip is still being worked on, hahaha!
8) What is the one thing that keeps you strong in the face of problems and intrigues?
The most important thing in life is to have people that love you because they can make anything go away. Thank you very much!!! :) And thank you for your blog!
