Miss World special guest at Variety Telethon

Miss World Alexandria Mills will be a special guest host of the 37th Annual Variety Telethon in Iowa this weekend. Broadcast live from Saturday March 5th at 7pm to Sunday March 6th at 6pm, Miss World will also be joined by Mr World Kamal Ibrahim and Miss World Africa Emma Wareus for two days of fundraising in support of Variety, The Children's Charity.

The Iowa branch of Variety was founded in 1937, with the first telethon held in 1975. Since then, Variety of Iowa has raised more than $84 million through its annual telethon and other fundraisers, and this year's telethon promises to add even more to that total to help disadvantaged and disabled children across the state. Last year's donations went towards a host of programs and projects throughout the area, including providing wheelchairs, specialised transportation, medical equipment, and educational materials to those in need.
